Before it was the Sunset district, it was called the Outside Lands. Historically dotted with large sand dunes—a few of which are still around—it's now known for the fog rolling in from the Pacific Ocean and for having some of the best Asian food in San Francisco. Starting in the 1960s, an influx of immigrants transformed the cultural makeup of the neighborhood to what it is now.
For the Sunset, we looked to the beach for inspiration and developed an umami sea salt. Flaky Pacific kosher salt is blended with savory ingredients like kelp, shiitake, tomato, and roasted garlic to produce a deliciously savory seasoning.
We recommend using this blend for fried foods, snack mixes and mixed nuts, vegetables, meats, and beans, grains, and pretty much anything else you're eating.
